| Welcome to my website. My purpose is not to sell you something, but to tell you something. Accordingly, I have tried to describe Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a straightforward manner, as well as give you information about myself and my way of doing things. There's nothing flashy about my presentation, but there's nothing flashy about Chapter 7 either.
FEES: One thing I can immediately explain is my fee for representing you. I generally charge $1,200.00 for my attorney's fee in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The court filing fee is $306.00, so the total is $1,506.00. I would need $1,006.00 as a retainer before filing your case, and the remaining $500.00 would be due one month after filing. That's the whole deal right there. (Note: related costs add about $20.00 to the total, but the attorney's fee is the same for just about everyone. I do not charge extra for couples, reaffirmations, numerous creditors, etc.)
I personally meet with you and prepare all documents, accompany you to the Trustee meeting downtown, and answer the phone when you have a question. I remain your attorney indefinitely at no additional cost, in case of any future concerns. I know of no other bankruptcy attorney in Austin who works this way, but most other attorneys rely greatly on staff. I prefer to slow down and look carefully at every aspect of your case with my own eyes.
LOCATION: After spending 20 years on Congress Avenue, my office is now easily accessible at 4807A East Oltorf Street, Austin, TX 78741, between downtown and the airport. It's about a mile and a half east of Interstate 35 and about a mile and a half south of Lady Bird Lake. Of course, I give precise directions to anyone coming to see me. (Beware of GPS and internet maps--they may not be complete.)
