BOARD CERTIFICATION: Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1988. (Recertified in 1993, 1998, 2003, and 2008)*
I worked for the Austin law firm of Alvis, Carssow and von Kreisler from 1982-1986. I have been practicing on my own since then. My specialty is filing Chapter 7 consumer bankruptcy cases, and I tend to not file cases involving a business outside the home. I quit counting how many I have filed after the first thousand or two. One unusual detail: my office has for the last seven years been located in my three-story residence southeast of downtown. Parking is not a problem, and I generally make house calls for anyone who cannot climb stairs. (My office was on Congress Avenue for many years, but the traffic and lack of parking finally led me to give up on downtown.)
*In case you're interested, becoming board certified in a field of law requires several things: five years of substantial practice in that field, additional continuing legal education beyond the normal standards, passing a long test, and receiving favorable reviews from other lawyers and judges.
